Live more.

Today, I’ve done a lot of things I haven’t done in a long while.

I woke up wanting something new for my daily boring life. So, out of whim, I stuck a couple of clothes in my backpack, a book, a towel and got out for a swim. No make-up, no gadgets, just me, my backpack and my desire for tranquility. Well, I carried a digicam with me but boohoo I forgot to check if the battery was in and yep, it wasn’t. Haha So technically, I walked out the door without any gadget. 😝

And for the first time in a long time, I was me. My stripped-down, down-to-the-core self was out. No care if blemishes showed, heck, I didn’t even worry that I only have slippers on. I even left my comb at home and didn’t bother bringing my make-up kit. On normal days, my “conformist” self would’ve freaked at how unpresentable I looked, but the inner child in me missed being carefree and well, free. And I must say, it’s exhilarating. I’ve actually never felt more alive than ever. You see, countless times I’ve caught myself in highly uncomfortable situations in uncomfortable outfits just for show to keep the reputation the world has become comfortable knowing. We all have that, right? The facade we want the rest of the world to see? Well, sometimes, it gets tiring carrying it around all the time. I’m not saying as well that I’ve been pretentious the whole time, but, generalizing and all, we do have that facade we want to project to the world. And today, I left it at home. I excitedly put it all down, went out and exposed my whole self to the world.

And you know what? Nobody even cared. Nobody even noticed. No one condemned me. And it’s liberating.

Today, I embraced the world and it cuddled me back with an extra note saying, ‘We appreciate the whole of you, you need not worry all the time’.

I’ve never felt more free and alive in a very long time.
